About More Culture >>>

“A Dub Poet and a passionate Jamaican born Cleon Palmer, also affectionately known as More Culture, discovered his love for poetry at age twelve whilst attending Old Harbour High School in Jamaica and wrote his first poem called “Dub Wise”. He recorded his first poem “Dub Wise” in 1998 whilst living in Jamaica which paved the way for him to explore the realm of Dub Poetry.

Over the past 25 years that More Culture has been writing, many of his poems are an amalgamation of his life in Jamaica and England. His poetry collection, ‘The Ongoing Revolution – New and Selected Poems,’ was published recently and can be found on Amazon.  The book takes you through the various stages and life cycles of More Culture’s poetry that is captivating, thought-provoking, dynamic, humorous, warm-hearted, political, radical and rebellious.  With the use of Jamaican patois thrown in to the mix to add depth!

More Culture

As a Dub Poet, More Culture’s poetry has changed a lot over the years; As a performer, he focuses on rhythm, storytelling, emotion and the spoken word. He tries to shift the audience’s perception of the world in a positive way.

In doing so, he mentally prepares the audience to face the harsh realities of life with his untamed style of performing poetry.

More Culture is also a significant promoter of motivating the young generation to achieve excellence and greatness.

Besides his personal art skills, More Culture also works to boost the Dub Poetry movement. He is the Founder of “Power In Poetry”, an annual event held in October that features performers of spoken word, singing, dancing, and reggae music in honour of celebrating Black History Month. Moreover, More Culture actively promotes the art of music through his More Culture Demo Recording Studio where, together with other artists, he aims at developing and expanding the legacy of Dub Poetry as well as other music styles.

A Performing Artist like no other, More Culture, or otherwise affectionately known as “The Best Dub Poet” combines rhythm with narration and spoken word to influence and motivate the audience. His latest book publication, “The Ongoing Revolution – New and Selected Poems”, can be purchased on Amazon for an unsigned copy or direct via this website for a signed copy at a special offer discount price.

Along with being an artist, he is also an active supporter of youth empowerment and the movement of Dub Poetry.  He also owns and manages More Culture Demo Recording Studio where he helps up-and-coming artists and keeps the legacy of Dub Poetry and music alive.
